STDs on the Rise in the Playas Playground because the playas are too busy playing.  A Playa’s Celebration? Hold Up! Readers Beware!!!I think you better Listen in on what the Haters are saying…Sexually Transmitted Diseases will Slowly Kill YoU

To My Crab Ass Peepz …

Attention! Playas, pimps, prostitutes, night-riders, and all you other freaks out there who like to come out and party all night. I may have been a hip-hop recording artist, criminal in the drug trade, and am now an urban novelist,  but I’m also an investigative reader, especially when it comes to my own health.

Just in, the CDC has just released some comforting news for all of you who like to live life vicariously on the wild side. However, read carefully before you decide to take off those rubber suits and toss them down the toilet bowl with the Tidy Bowl Man and then continue drifting along the swirly waves of life.

According to a recently released article on Science Daily and other resources, a new treatment for Gonorrhea that prevents reinfection by use of a newly developed vaccine has been developed by a biotech company in Buffalo, NY.

The vaccine, which was developed by the biotech firm, TherapyX Inc., is based on methods used in anti-cancer therapy. In trial tests — within a controlled environment — scientists within the company have effectively eliminated gonococcal infections in female mice and have prevented re-infection according to research recently published by University at Buffalo scientists in the Journal of Infectious Diseases.

Gonorria

The much needed research and development came about due to the onslaught of resistant gonococcal infections in roughly 100 million people worldwide (There are roughly 140,000 U.S. cases per year) who have reported cases of gonorrheal infections.

Many who have the infection are learning the “Hard” way according to the Haters who are “just angry” says the opposition, “Because they’re not having fun between the sheets…”

Being a neutral party as I am, one can easily purview that the opposition have a “Burning” desire to live life on the urban edge, which brings about the much needed desire to find a cure for the happy crowd who like to take extremely  high risks in life.

In many urban novels the characters entertain themselves excessively with a little more than just booze, weed, and alcohol — and often find themselves needing to cap the night off with just a touch of nightly lust. Guess what, this happens in real life everyday, especially with a lot of individuals within the hip-hop and drug trade crowds which usually go hand in hand.

Often, many find themselves going out and about in order to successfully fulfill their sexcapades. However, soon thereafter these inconspicuous individuals are now finding themselves sitting at the local clinic (often twice more) hoping that the recommended dose of ‘cephalosporin [an antibiotic] therapy with adjuvant azithromycin or doxycycline, which is the recommended treatment of gonorrhea,’ according to background information in the article. Cefixime is the only oral cephalosporin recommended for gonorrhea treatment.”

Accordingly, the naysayers may have a valid point, but only until the new treatment is made widely available to street prostitutes and bar-whores across America. On this same site, within an associated editorial, Robert D. Kirkcaldy, M.D., M.P.H., of the Division of STD Prevention, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, and colleagues” have all  stated that, “New antibiotics for treating gonococcal infections are needed. A clinical trial sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases examining novel combinations of existing drugs just completed enrollment, and a small study of a new oral agent is ongoing. But the antibiotic pipeline is running dry: continued investment in antibiotic development is critical. Meanwhile, the gonococcus has continued to develop the capability to defeat each new antibiotic used. The threat of drug-resistant gonorrhea is increasing and has reached North America. Clinicians, drug developers, and public health professionals must act now.”

In this article I am not going to get technical and write about immunologic responses, cytokines [the chemical messengers inside your cells], etcetera.  In all honesty, to be totally  frank with you all, I know — and you also know — that most of you don’t care, especially the high risk takers who just want to know the one thing that matters in their busy lives, “Does it work?”  The answer to the question of course is, yes, in mice thus far.

Nevertheless for those of you who would like to know more about this matter in depth please click on to the following links below:

Today, if we were to look back we can learn from history that, “Sexually Transmitted Diseases (or STDs) are at unprecedented and epidemic proportions. Thirty years of the sexual revolution is paying an ugly dividend.

This epidemic is a recent phenomenon. Prior to 1960, there were only two significant sexually transmitted diseases: syphilis and gonorrhea. In the sixties and seventies this relatively stable situation began to change. For example, in 1976, chlamydia first appeared in increasing numbers in the United States. Then in 1981, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the virus which causes AIDS, was identified.

In 1985, human papilloma virus (HPV) began to increase. By 1992 syphilis was at a 40-year high. As of 1993, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which is almost always caused by gonorrhea or chlamydia, was affecting 1 million new women each year.”

Many of you reading this are probably trying to make sense of this article in connection with urban fiction, the connection is easily made because many urban writers write very detailed sex scenes which unsuspecting readers romanticize within themselves thinking that they too can have unprotected sex without bearing any consequences whatsoever. However, let’s consider one of the most gangsterous books of all time written well over 4,ooo years ago (The Bible which contains many stories filled with sex, violence, drugs, alcohol. and murder.

Nonetheless, it does have the one lacking element that most urban books fail to bring forward, and that is,  a righteous message. 1Jhn. 3:4).

The book of Leviticus written by none other than Mosheh (Moses) himself several millennium ago, namely, the passage written in 18:23— , which states: Neither shall you have sexual relations with any animal and defile yourself, along with it; neither shall any woman present herself to have sexual relations with an animal. It is confusion and perversion.

This passage is very relevant to urban fiction and the sexually transmitted diseases as well for it is a commonly known fact that many of the illnesses that society suffers from are related to bestiality and uncontrollable lust. It is common knowledge among scientists that sexually transmitted diseases such as syphilis came from mankind having sex with animals. In this example it’s syphilis whose origin is traced back to the vaginal tract of llamas. Namely, Mexican sailors became desperate from loneliness being out at sea for months on end resorted to banging llamas, hence, they starting the spread of syphilis when they returned back to their native lands and elsewhere ashore. Refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_syphilis, and http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=syphilis  for more info.

If we are to keep it real or gangsta, or whatever terminology one chooses to dictate in writing, be sure to give your potential fans a heart-felt lesson about the burning sensations that more than likely will come about if they choose to live the life of one or more of your characters after closing the pages of your book.

So be it, now that you have a ton of resources in front of you get to reading and incorporate some morale within your storyline for another  gangsta named Shaul (Paul) who authored 1 Corinthians 6:18-19 stated: Flee sexual immorality! Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body (Robbery, theft, murder), but he who sins sexually, sins against his own body (For you must go inside a woman’s vagina or elsewhere in order to have sexual relations).

In closing, I think Shaul (Paul) said more than enough when he wrote the previous passage before continuing to write about Chomos ; child molesters, and other sexual deviants, amongst other things. Although I did try to inject some of my own comedic views in the writing of this article I think Dave Chappelle said it best although this is no laughing matter, and just remember: Sex is most pleasurable but having an STD is not.

Okay, now that I’ve shared my thoughts with you all, go pick up a pen or grab your laptops and write that steamy sex scene again, but do it this time with a touch of reality, and write some substance with it as well. Oh,  and as my Annabella would say, Ciao bitches.  http://www.comedycentral.com/video-clips/02k2di/chappelle-s-show-kneehigh-park
